In 2022 Keli became Co-Executive Producer on the Paramount+ crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown, following a stint as a writer and producer on the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That. She previously worked on the groundbreaking comedy Twenties, created by Lena Waithe, and spent two years writing for the CW Network's Black Lightning, based on the DC Comics superhero. Keli's career as a screenwriter began on the series Being Mary Jane, which chronicled the travails of a pioneering African American journalist. She was awarded a 2016 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing on a Dramatic Series for her work on the episode Sparrow. In 2019 Keli was nominated for two News/Documentary Emmys for her work as a producer on the Netflix film, Reversing Roe, a history of the political and legal battles over abortion in America. She is currently working on a documentary inspired by her collection of vintage pieces by historically significant designers of color.
